INTRODUCTION

Save the Children in North West Balkans (SCiNWB), with head office in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) implements its activities in three countries: BiH, Serbia and Montenegro and supports implementation of regional initiatives in the Southeastern Europe.

SCiNWB is announcing the recruitment of individual or agency/company (hereinafter referred as “Consultant”) external to realize a training for professionals within the project BRIGHT4ALL – Basic Right to Education for AllChildren in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of engagement of a consultant is development, in cooperation with representatives of Save the Children, a training plan for program designed to strengthen parents/families/guardians of children outside of the education system and/or children at risk of school dropout, and also realization of training for professionals from schools, who will work directly with parents/families to be empowered to support their children in continuation of schooling and to stay in education thus becoming agents of change in communities.

For the purpose of implementation of the BRIGHT4ALL project, Save the Children is looking for a consultant (applying as individual, or on behalf of a certain company or organization, hereinafter: consultant) with experience relevant for this type of engagement.

GOAL OF THE ENGAGEMENT

Specific goals of the consultant are the following:

1)      Development of a training plan for program designed to strengthen parents/families/guardians competences with work methodology, accompanying activities and materials to work on improving parenting skills and the home-learning environment.

2)      Realization of a three days training for professionals from schools from three project locations and partners organization representatives, who will further work on strengthening parents’ competences with families in schools and/or in their communities.

3)      Report on implementation of the consultant task, up to10 pages long, in local and English (with ancillary documents). 

TIME-FRAME

For implementing all the tasks in the defined period, the consultant shall be employed from 18 to 29 of February 2020 (fifth working days).

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION

Consultants are to have minimum following qualifications and skills:

  • Minimum BSc/BA in social or humanistic sciences (candidates with MSc or PhD in relevant subject shall have priority);
  • Minimum five years of professional experience in implementation of similar tasks, with experience in areas of education, social protection, psychology, pedagogy;
  • Full understanding of the situation and issues with faced families from vulnerable groups as well as topic of children education dropout;
  • Specific experience in working with professionals, parents, caregivers and families of children who belonging the vulnerable categories;
  • Experience in preparation and implementation of trainings for profesionals in areas of education, social protection;
  • Several years of experience in work with marginalized categories; documents/programs/guidelines,
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate detailed concepts in a clear and concise manner (in writing and verbally);
  • Strong analytical and creative skills;
  • Proficient in English and BHS.
