Every three minutes a child dies on the world's roads

Recognizing the enormous burden of death and injury on the roads as a global problem, United Nations General Assembly the period from year 2011th to 2020th declared the decade of action on road safety, with the aim of giving priority to the prevention and traffic safety in the next decade in order to save millions of lives.

According to the forecasts in the decade of 2011th-2020th, with the involvement of all relevant institutions in the prevention of traffic accidents on the roads, loss of 5 million lives and severe injuries of 50 million people can be prevented.  You can learn about alarming statistic from around the world and BiH in the infographic we created for this occasion. 

Save the Children is participating in the Global Road Safety Week, 23-29 April 2014! The Week is dedicated to pedestrian safety.
